BCI X-Prize development underway

January 21, 2010

Rod Furlan just published an article through Singularity Hub outlining some of the highlights from the recent brainstorming meetings over a potential X-Prize for brain-computer interfacing. As you may know, the X-Prize foundation siezed the imaginations of inventors the world over with their $10 million Ansari X-Prize for privately built spacecraft.

Talks about how to incentivize the development of brain-computer interface technology contain tremendous promise of accelerating near-fantastical BCI inventions. Short of stoking the wanderlust of newly-Christened Avatar fanatics, BCI technology is nothing less than an enthralling technological roadmap with a gloriously dazzling destination: opportunities for the blind to see, the deaf to hear, and the paralyzed to walk.
